Mosley plans to do a lot of dishing out during the fight withMayorga. "I'm still just as fast as 154, and my power's prettygood," he said. "I don't go in looking to knock someone out. If itcomes, it comes, but I'm looking to have a very good night." Mayorga, of course, has been doing his usual trash-talking. "I amnot afraid of Mosley," Mayorga said at the news conference toannounce the fight. "I will show him I am the real man, I willstick my chin in the air for him to hit me just like I have done inthe past to prove I'm the man." Mayorga said much more than this, most of it demeaning. But Mosleytakes it all in stride. Whereas Mayorga's stream of insults hadFernando Vargas steaming before their fight in November, Mosleyshrugs it off. "It really doesn't bother me," he said. "It's justhis way, the way he carries on. You have to expect it. None of thatgets into my head." In fact, Mosley seems to have almost a serenity about him in hisfirst fight since his unanimous but close decision loss to Cotto onpay-per-view on Nov. 10. (That match was scheduled because aprojected meeting with Zab Judah in May fell through after the NewYorker apparently suffered cuts on the arm in an accident involvinga glass shower door.) You will never hear Mosley making a big fuss about a decision, buthe believes he did enough to beat Cotto. "He jabbed very well, butthe punch stats showed I landed most of the power punches," hesaid. "It could have been a draw, but I thought I won." Now, Mosley could be one fight away from a meeting with the man whooutlasted and ground down Cotto in May. However, to make theMargarito fight happen, he must do more than just beat Mayorga, which he is heavily favored to do. He must beat him impressivelyand convincingly. Mayorga, meanwhile, kept his career alive with the majoritydecision win over Vargas at the Staples Center on Nov. 23, when hisweight was announced as a career-high 164 pounds.
