BackOffice To Put Paradise Pottery Plan On Hold

HARWICH With the purchase of Thompsons Farm Market by a limitedliability corporation held by the principals of BackOfficeAssociates, LLC, plans to raze and develop the Paradise Potterysite in South Harwich to construct new offices and employee housingare on hold.
BackOffice Associates CEO Patricia Kennedy said they had theopportunity to buy the 33,300-square-foot market property for theexpansion of BackOffices operation. That IT firm specializes indata quality, migration and governance solutions for global SAPcustomers.
Kennedy said the plans at this point are to use the second flooroffices at the market complex for BackOffice, but there are noplans at this point for using the first floor space which used tocontain the grocery market. She said that space is not needed atthis point and they are making an assessment for future uses. Theproperty was purchased in the name of Building Down the Road, LLC.
Were exciting to be buying that building and re-purposing it andfixing it up, Kennedy said.
The purchase of the farm market building will have an impact onexpansion plans for office space in South Harwich, Kennedy said.The plan is to put expansion plans there on hold and to evaluatewhat well do with it.
BackOffice Associates purchased the Paradise Pottery property morethan a year ago with a plan to raze the structures there anddevelop an 8,789-square-foot office building and four townhouseunits for employees at the 928 Route 28 location. That property isseparated by one property from the IT firms main offices at 940Route 28.
That one parcel is the former Six Crown Antiques propertypreviously owned by Wilfred Boulanger, but recently sold to SixCrown LLC, a corporation owned by the principals of BackOfficeAssociates.
That property holds two structures, an 1815 full-Cape and amultifamily structure built in 1860. The property owners werescheduled to go before the historical commission last Thursdayseeking a waiver of the 180-day demolition delay bylaw to raze thetwo structures. While there were no representatives for the projectin attendance that evening, the commission also did not have aquorum so no action was taken on the application.
