When a legendary war-veteran lady, such as Djamila Bouhiredendorses Dr. Amine Zaoui, an intellectual who has been subject toand administrative abuse of power, then we are in front of adangerous sign suggesting that the transmission of Bouhired’smilitant message has failed… Otherwise, when a respectfulreligious man, like Sheikh Abderrahmane Chibane, gets entrenchedwith a lady, like Khalida Toumi (Culture Minister), who had alreadydeclared more dangerous statements than poems of Adonis, then I betwe are in front of unexplainable phenomenon!
Well, what I could say to the liberation war everlasting legendarywoman…it’s your fate lady to remain like you have been50 years ago, a strong defender of liberties and loudly expressingher convictions, no matter what the others would say.
How come an Authority fears from a poet or an author? Is Islam soweak that Khalida defends him from the threat of Adonis? This incase the cause of the firing of the Director General of theNational Library, Dr. Amine Zaoui, was the hosting of Adonis.Otherwise, in case the cause of the firing has been the book ofMohamed Ben Chico, then I’d only recall and remind Khalida ofher statements targeting President Bouteflika few years ago!
Finally, I’d like saying two words… I address thefirst one to the woman whom name each time mentioned, our bodieshave gooseflesh. To Djamila Bouhired, or “Jeanne d’Arcof my country,” like the phenomenon late poet Nizar Qabbanicalled her, I say that I used to think that you are a martyr, andhadn’t realized that you are still alive only when I enteredto university! My second word is addressed to Amine Zaoui, to whomI’d like to say: don’t be sad norsurprised…success in Khalida Toumi’s Algeria isforbidden!
