Santa Clara, CA -- Computer Simulation Technology (CST), announcesthe addition of two new products to CST Studio Suite at DesignCon, booth # 311. The development of CST PCB Studio andCST Cable Studio is a result of the acquisition of a stake inSimLab Software GmbH in 2007.
Design engineers and researchers interested in SI/PI and EMC/EMIanalysis will benefit from highly efficient, proven simulationalgorithms, advanced imports, and unmatched user-friendlinessthrough full integration in CST Design Environment. CST PCB Studioand CST Cable Studio can expose EMC issues early in the designprocess, reducing the number of expensive cut and try iterations.
"We have noticed a strong increase in demand for simulation toolsfrom the EMC market," commented Martin Timm, Marketing Director,CST. "As a result of our collaboration with Simlab, we are able tostreamline our customers' workflow, offering a combination ofleading edge PCB and cable analyses with highly accurate full 3D EMsimulation."
CST PCB Studio is a specialist tool for the investigation of Signaland Power Integrity and the simulation of EMC and EMI effects onPrinted Circuit Boards (PCB). Applications include high speeddigital, analog/mixed signal, and power supply. CST PCB Studioseamlessly integrates into various design flows, calculatingparasitic crosstalk effects and simulating the electronic networkin time or frequency domain. Of particular interest is theinterface with CST Microwave Studio (CST MWS) which enables linking PCB simulations with subsequent full 3Danalysis of electromagnetic emissions.
CST Cable Studio is focused on the analysis of SI, EMC and EMIeffects in cable harness systems. Applications include theoptimization of shielding, weight and space consumption on singlewires, twisted pairs, and complex cable harnesses with an unlimitednumber of cables. Typical analyses include voltage distributions onprobes, current flow through components, scattering parameters, impedances, and emissions simulation through CST MWS.
Both tools will be fully integrated in CST Design Environment withCST Studio Suite version 2009, previewed for release in Q4 2008.Test versions will be available from May 2008.
