A review of the textile, footwear and clothing sector wascommissioned by Kim Carr, the Innovation, Industry, Science &Research Minister. The Council of Textile & Fashion Industries ofAustralia argues in its submission that "favourable governmentpolicy" is vital to generating growth. The Council's proposalsinclude funding links to international supply chains and extrafunding for the "TCF Strategic Investment Program". Jo Kellock,head of the Council, says support for Australian branding wasexpressed at a consumer clothing workshop featuring groups such asJust Group and Pacific Brands
