Batson Group, Inc. and Smit Textile Announce RepresentationAgreement Batson Group, Inc., an affiliate of Louis P. Batson Company,announces an exclusive agreement to represent SMIT TEXTILE locatedin Schio (VI) Italy. Batson Group, Inc. will offer SMIT TEXTILE'scomplete line of weaving equipment, spare parts and service in theUnited States and Canada.

SMIT TEXTILE was formed in 2003 after the EU Anti Trust Commissionforced the break up of SULZER TEXTIL. SMIT TEXTILE is jointly ownedby the Italian textile group Borgosesia, SpA and SMIT TEXTILEManagement. With its advanced technical and technological know-how,first class quality operations and world-wide Sales and Service,SMIT TEXTILE is a fully stand-alone company and a leader in weavingmachine gripper technology, distinguished by the G6300 and G6300Fweaving machines which SMIT TEXTILE will continue to produce andsell exclusively.

The G6300 rapier weaving machine introduced in 1999 is acost-effective investment for textile production. It is a user-friendly machine, equipped with electronic controls, designed forreliable performance with low maintenance costs. Recognizing theincreasing demands for productivity, versatility and flexibilitySMIT TEXTILE designed the GS900, the next generation of the G6300.Modularity, functionality and ergonomics are the qualities of theGS900 weaving machine that set it apart from others in theindustry. Its' modular design and its eleven different weavingwidths from 170 to 360 cm, allow for a wide range of setups. Aleader in the technology of weaving machines with "dynamicallycontrolled" flexible rapiers, the GS900 is designed to minimizestress on weft and warp yarns.

The G6300F Terry weaving machine is a cost-efficient machinedesigned to produce a wide variety of terry fabrics. With sevendifferent weaving widths from 220 to 360 cm, the G6300F is idealfor multi-panel weaving of terry towels. The ground and pile warpseach have an electronically controlled warp let-off system ensuringuniform pile weight and height from the full to the empty warpbeam. The formation and height of the pile is programmable bydynamic sley control, ensuring superb quality and setting newstandards in terry patterning. The electronically controlled clothtake-up guarantees exact weft densities in every terry towel and afaultless transition between pile and border.

SMIT TEXTILE developed and manufactured the T4300 , an highlyappreciated Air Jet machine for terry fabric. Building on years ofexperience and extensive research, SMIT TEXTILE introduced at the2003 ITMA in Birmingham and at SHANGAITEX a new air jet weavingmachine for flat fabrics, the JS900. Designing the new generationof weaving machines on a "common platform", SMIT TEXTILE hascreated a technological synergy among the various weaving systems.As a result, the JS900 air-jet machine is available in a wide rangeof configurations, offering the ideal solution for everyapplication.
