What Is The Purpose Of The Quilt Show?

Making one is a very involved process, and can take a lot of time.If you are not familiar with quilting, then you may not be aware ofhow long it takes to make one.

When making one, first you have to choose what fabric and battingto use. What fabric to use is up to the quilter. The main thing toremember is that the fabric that you choose has to work well withthe pattern that you choose. Then the fabric must be cut intowhatever shape of quilt blocks the pattern requires.

Then the piecing of the quilt happens. Each smaller group of quiltblocks get sewn together to make one large block. Then these aresewn together to make the quilt top. Next the top is layeredtogether with the batting and backing.

Then the edges have to be sewn up and then the real quilting canbegin. The chosen quilt pattern gets embroidered into the fabric.That is where the real quilting skill comes in. Then after allthese steps, it is ready for the quilt show.

A quilt show is held to show off the beautiful and elaboratedesigns and quilts that people have made. In many cases, thesequilts are sold for fundraising, or even for charities. Most fairsand craft shows have a quilters section, because quilting is alwaysa popular event with ladies everywhere.
