Bud Light Lifts Anheuser-Busch New Agency Beats Out VeteransAnheuser-Busch reported second quarter net beer sales in the U.S.jumped 4.5%. The Bud Light family—including Bud Light Limeand Bud Light Chelada—grew 5%. Budweiser's sales for thequarter decreased 4% and Michelob, which had been repositioned as acraft-style brew, declined 5%. A-B's revenue overall rose 6% andpushed net income up 1.8% to $677 million. Distributors arereporting Bud Light Lime (which launched in May) is a hit asretailers like Wal-Mart order

Febreze Touted for Home Care Effort Also Includes New BottlesProcter & Gamble is giving its Febreze brand more user-friendlypackaging and will attempt to convince consumers the line iseffective at odor-fighting in the home, not just on fabrics, with anew TV, print and online campaign breaking this week. Febrezeassistant brand manager Ciare Thorn said company research foundthat consumers were already using the product as an air freshener.The relaunch is part of what P&G calls its "whole homefreshness," she said. A 15-second TV spot shows a couple sprayingtheir home with Febreze and inhaling the mist. Voiceover: "TheFebreze that freshens your fabrics now has a new, finer mist thatfreshens the air as well." Grey Worldwide, New York, handles.P&G also has given Febreze bottles a more ergonomic design.

Lower Demand Bites Crocs Clog Company May Post First Loss Shares ofCrocs fell 47% last week as the company forecastlower-than-expected earnings. Crocs may post its first drop insales since it went public in 2006. Retailers have cut back onorders of the colorful foam clogs as demand has ebbed andknock-offs have also bitten into sales. Though name-brand Crocssell for as high as $69.95, Wal-Mart sells imitation Crocs that gofor around $5. Analysts said in a more price-sensitive environment,that's hurting the brand. To cut costs, Crocs has already closed aCanadian manufacturing plant and is reducing the headcount at theBoulder, Colo., firm. Crocs currently supplies its shoes to 13,500U.S. stores and 95 countries.
