BY BOBIE-LEE DIXON
Ladies! Why does he keep looking at your feet while he’stalking to you? Couldn’t this be a real bummer, makes you feelsomething’s wrong with your feet doesn’t it? Well maybe, maybe not. What I do know is that men looooove,incredibly-sexy-well-kept-feet.
Toes that are perfectly manicured, heals that are soft and smooth, feet that smell great and get this guys, most men prefer naturallooking feet.
That means no acrylic girls, besides they’re not very healthyfor your nail bed, and hey, you might want to lighten-up on thenail polish and opt for a more natural look. French tips perhaps.
According to Jessie (not real name) and Randall, two of myco-workers, “feet just gotta be clean.” Randall feelsthat if a woman has dirty toe nails it tells alot about how shekeeps herself and may give rise for hygiene concern in other areas. While Jessie said: “Yep it tells alot about the person.”
Now, of the lot, that’s the view of just these two guys, butsurely I think it would be agreed upon by men in general, thatneatly, clean kept toes are part and parcel of a well kept woman.
Tucked away inside our shoes, feet fall low down on our list ofpriorities when it comes to beauty and so we need to reconsider howwe treat our feet.
Caring for your feet
Dry your feet thoroughly after every shower or bath. Damp skin willencourage fungal infections such as athlete's foot, which flourishin warm, damp environments.
n Sprinkle your feet with talcum powder, which will absorb anyexcess water.
n Never buy shoes in the morning as your feet swell throughout theday.
n Never buy shoes that are too small. Try standing on a piece ofpaper and drawing around your feet. Put your shoes on top of thefoot print. Which is larger? If your foot outlines are larger thanyour shoes then you are probably buying the wrong size or shape foryour feet.
n Try not to where the same shoes all day. Walk to work in acomfortable pair of shoes and take another pair to wear at theoffice.
n Don’t buy shoes with heels more than 5cm (two-inches) high.Save high heels for evening wear only. The angle of your shoethrows all your weight onto the delicate bones at the front of yourfoot. It is actually the thick heel bone that is designed to carrymost of your weight.
Getting rid of those bunions

Keeping your feet clean is part of good hygiene. Soothe swollen feet in cold water
Chiropody
If you have a lot of hard skin on your feet, you may need to see achiropodist, who will remove it using a scalpel.
Chiropodists are also trained to deal with ingrown toenails, cornsand skin conditions like athlete’s foot. They can also giveadvice on bunions, which can often be helped by an arch supportthat fits inside the shoe.
Hard skin is the body’s way of protecting itself from abuild-up of pressure and is often a sign of too-tight shoes. Fallenarches can also cause hard skin but again can be corrected with aproper arch support, which may need to be fitted by a footspecialist known as a podiatrist.
A Home Pedicure
A salon pedicure is a wonderful treat, but it is just as easy toget good results at home.
n Remove old nail vanish.
n Clip your toenails straight across using clippers.
Clippers are easier to use than scissors and are less likely toencourage ingrown toenails. Smooth off any rough edges with anemery board. Always file from the outside of the nail towards thecentre.
n Soak feet in a washing-up bowl of warm water. Add a few drops oflavender and essential oil.
n Use pumice stone to remove dead skin.
n Dry feet carefully, paying special attention to the area betweenyour toes.
n Apply a cuticle remover. Leave for two minutes then gentle pushback your cuticles using an orange stick wrapped in cotton wool.
n Finish with a moisturising foot massage.
