Third Touch the Soul of Macedonia Event

(Spic, 23.07.2008)  The third event dedicated to promotion ofproduction and sales of unique, original and high qualityMacedonian handicraft and souvenirs, Touch the Soul of Macedoniais taking place at the Culture Centre in Bitola on 25-27 July aspart of the Bitfest 2008 Programme.
The three-day-long event will see a forum on the topic The Role ofthe Civil Sector in Preservation and Promotion of the MacedonianFolk Culture and Tradition where representatives of theDirectorate for Protection of Cultural Heritage, civilorganizations, collectors, and admirers of Macedonian tradition andculture will take part.
A show of handicraft Macedonian Handicraft  Inexhaustible Sourceof Macedonian Tradition and Culture is gathering 35 craftmen fromSkopje, Kumanovo, Kocani, Probistip, Vinica, Ohrid, Struga, Prilepand Bitola. A number of Macedonian handmade items and souvenirs,Macedonian embroidery, carvings, painted pottery, weaving etc. willbe displayed. Visitors will be able to get familiar with thespecifics of the Macedonian folk costumes through a performance,Macedonian Folk Costumes - Our Treasure and Pride, presented byethnologist Nade Genevska-Bracic and will see a fashion show,Modern Clothes Inspired by Macedonian Folklore and Tradition byfashion designers Lile Stojkovska in Bitola and Dejan Sidorovski inPrilep.
