Filmmakers always want their films to make an impact on theiraudience, but sometimes the costume designers really impact the lives of moviegoers by invading theirclosets. There have been many, many fashion trends inspired by film, with some trends being exact replicas of clothing worn by movie characters, and some simply being favorite film catch phrases printed on a T-shirt. Here are some of the mostmemorable fashion trends that have been inspired by film:

They Won't Forget (1937)
Audiences didn't soon forget this film when it was released, thanks to a young Lana Turner. Her career was just taking off, and she got to play the victim of a horrible crime whose character was killed off early on in the film. But what'sshe's known for and what really jump-started her career was a conical bra, a tight sweater, and an exaggerated strut. Shebecame known as the "Sweater Girl", and many women tried to emulate this ultra-sexy look that's definitely one of thehottest on this list.

The Wild One (1953) and Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
Marlon Brando and James Dean are two of the greatest actors of alltime, and they're both responsible for one of the most popularmen's fashion statements of all time. Both of them wore their white T-shirtswithout anything over them (which was unheard of at the time), bluejeans, and leather jackets in these films, which inspired ageneration of teenagers to do the same. Teens really identifiedwith the rebellious nature of their characters, and they helpedmake this iconic look one of the most popular and imitated trendsever.

Dr. No (1962)
Who knew that a spy flick could be responsible for one of thesexiest items of clothing ever? Before Ms. Honey Ryder (a.k.a. Ursula Andress) emerged fromthe sea in her belted bikini, all women wore on the beach were boring one pieces. But this film changed the way our society viewed swimwear forever, and thebikini became the most popular piece of clothing made from the least amount of fabric with women as well as (and even more so) men.
