Trelleborg’s acquisition of the operations of the US company MacDermid OffsetPrinting Blankets has been finalized. The company has approximately400 employees and sales of about SEK 540 M in 2007. MacDermidOffset Printing Blankets is a leading player in the area ofPrinting Blankets for the graphic industry and was part of the USgroup MacDermid Inc.
The acquisition strengthens Trelleborg’s leading position inthe area of Printing Blankets – polymer-coated compositefabrics designed in several layers for use in commercial offsetprinting. The acquisition makes Trelleborg the market leader inEurope and gives a good second position in the US.
MacDermid Offset Printing Blankets has production units in the USand France as well as a global sales organization.
The purchase consideration amounted to approximately SEK 400 M incash.
The operations will be integrated with the existing business inTrelleborg Engineered Systems.
