A trip to Thailand
Ellen Waters and Christine Connor spent 17 days in Thailandstarting and ending the trip in the city of Bangkok. They walked onthe original bridge over the River Kwai, went to the War Museum andlearned about World War II in the area. Sukothai had the largestcollection of historical ruins.
They even visited a local school. Beautiful garments were bought inan indigo dyeing workshop. A day was spent in Myanmar for anexcursion and then to the Golden Triangle, the junction ofThailand, Burma, and Laos, on a cruise of the Mekong River.
They rode elephants for about an hour at the Elephant Sanctuary.One of the highlights was a discussion with Buddhist monks at atemple. They saw the Chiang Mai’s Temples.
In Bangkok they visited the Grand Palace and saw the EmeraldBuddha. A farewell dinner on a river completed their fantasticexperience. It was a super trip.
