U.S., Japanese, German Inventors Develop Polyester Blend Composition

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 28 -- Mureo Kaku and Akiko Mizutani Ushiyama,both of Tochigi, Japan, Richard Allen Hayes of Brentwood, Tenn.,and Jennifer M. Schneider of Hockessin, Germany have developed apolyester blend composition.
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A polyesterblend composition that comprises at least two copolymers selectedfrom certain copolymers, particularly blends of branched and linearbiodegradable copolymers. Also provided is a blown film that isproduced from the polyester blend composition, and a process forproducing the polyester blend composition and the film. The film isbiodegradable, transparent, and has excellent mechanicalproperties."
The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,388,058 on June 17.
The patent has been assigned to E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co.,Wilmington, Germany.
