The retailer is "fusing fashion and going green," partnering withBagir Group Ltd., a maker of men's and women's apparel based inIsrael.
What they came up with is a menswear collection under the CovingtonPerfect Wardrobe label that incorporates Bagir's EcoGIR technology.
The line, which includes wool blend suits, blazers, sports jacketsand trousers, is machine-washable and can be tumble-dried.
Here's the "green" part: The apparel incorporates fabric made fromrecycled materials such as plastic bottles.
One suit (shown above) contains about 25 plastic bottles.
Organic cotton also is used in the material.
Moshe Gadot, a spokesman for Bagir, said in a statement that thecollection eliminates "the use of airborne toxins and harshchemicals used in dry cleaning ... and the recycled material savesenergy, consumption and diverts waste from landfills."
A stretch component in the clothing allows for more flexibility inmuch-needed spots, such as elbows and underarms. That way, youdon't look like you slept in your suit by the end of the workday.
The new collection ranges from $75 for a pair of pants to $140 fora blazer.
The Covington Perfect Wardrobe is available at Sears stores and atwww.sears.com.

Skin care from the inside out
The skin-care trend of combining a topical product with a dietarysupplement continues as consumer demand keeps building for anythingthat's "anti-aging."
The latest?
DermaVio IN (the capsules) and DermaVio OUT, the serum that'sapplied directly to the skin.
The idea is to have the "IN" product work at the cellular levelsdeep within the skin; the "OUT" product is there to protect skinfrom the elements.
The idea of supplements as skin-care remedies is nothing new. Olayintroduced a vitamin regimen for skin more than four years ago.
However, before taking any supplement, be aware that, like topicalskin-care creams and treatments, none of these products is reviewedby the Food and Drug Administration before being offered.
The DermaVio capsules contain high levels of vitamin A, so it's agood idea to check with your physician first, especially if you'retaking other supplements or prescription drugs. As for the serum,it can be used morning and evening after cleansing.
The combo package isn't cheap -- $129.95 for both products atwww.dermavio.com.
