ELTGES - textile & apparel machinery expo from July 9-13 July 05, 2008 (Ethiopia)
Britain-based Total Textile and Garment Services (TTGS), a majorinternational garment & textile machinery and accessories supplierin Ethiopia, would be organizing an international EthiopianLeather, Textile and Garment Exhibition and Symposium (ELTGES) inAddis Ababa from July 9-13, 2008.

This exposition would provide Ethiopian Leather, Textile andGarment manufacturers an opportunity to gain experience in modernways of manufacturing equipment and systems.

Besides, it would also provide ample opportunity for linkage andnetworking particularly towards sub-contracting activities andimprovement of the marketing infrastructure.

It would also help promote inter-firm collaboration in theEthiopian Leather, Textile and Garment sectors and assistcollective marketing and promotion activities in the future withpotential raw-material, machinery and accessories suppliers as wellas buyers.

Exhibitors in the fabrics category would display a wide variety ofapparels made from cotton, denim, embroidery, lace, knittedsportswear and wool. They would also exhibit functional fabrics andtheir usage, clothing accessories and yarns among others. Thoseparticipating in the machinery and software category would showcasecutting, making, finishing, spinning, weaving, dyeing, ERP andleather processing machineries, among others.

A similar exhibition would be held from November 12-16 this year,organized again , by TTGS and in the same city.

Mr Jim Tim, owner of the company confirmed Fibre2fashion about the event and added that the exhibition would help promoteEthiopian leather, textile and garment produces. He furtherinformed that the symposium and exhibition would be organized withthe support and cooperation of the Government of Ethiopia and willbe aimed towards bringing together a number of differentorganizations and companies engaged in these spheres.

In fact, a good number of producers and fashion biggies like Adidas and Nike are also expected to participate in ELTGES. Even Mr Tadesse Haile,Trade and Industry State Minister is hopeful that the exhibitionwould provide an opportunity for promoting domestic leather,textile and garment products in the international market and wouldalso help exchange valuable experiences among producers.

Moreover, it would also pave the way for investment opportunitiesin the country to internationally reputed enterprises. The five daysymposium and expo will also comprise musical and fashion shows toattract crowds.
