St. Croix Cleaners, a family-owned business, has earned the 2008 “Award of Excellence” and “Master Dry Cleaner” designation from the Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute.
Based in Stillwater, St. Croix has locations in Woodbury, Cottage Grove and Hudson, Wis. It also provides delivery services throughout Washington and St. Croix counties.
To earn the Award of Excellence, a cleaner must demonstrate commitment and quality in a number of areas, which includes ongoing educational programs for staff, passing an annual cleaning quality performance test and a stain removal test. It must also uphold a set of customer service principles, which includes a money-back guarantee.
In addition, they are expected to show a commitment to professionalism, use secret shoppers and submit their plant to an evaluation by a cleaners association.
Those who pass the tests on the first try receive the “Master Dry Cleaner” classification. The testing is extensive and only 80 of more than 38,000 dry cleaners in the country have earned this designation.
According to a press release announcing the awards, St. Croix Cleaners is the first dry cleaning and laundry plant in Minnesota and Wisconsin to pass this test in 2008. Also, the Master Dry Cleaner designation was also won by St. Croix on its first attempt.
St. Croix Cleaners services include fine dry cleaning, alterations, beaded and evening apparel cleaning, wedding gown preservation, textile restoration, purse cleaning, area rug cleaning, pillow cleaning, fire restoration and leather and suede cleaning.
