CALGARY, AB -- (Marketwire) -- 08/22/08 -- Gemini Explorations,Inc. ("Gemini") ( GXPI ) is pleased to announce that sample results from a newly testedmineralization zone located at its La Tapata Gold Mine site, showindisputable evidence of an economically viable recovery of copperand lead through the use of Diazem Corporation's proprietaryseparation and capture process. As previously reported, thisprocess allows for the capture of a uniquely high percentage ofprecious metals and certain base metals. This process will providefor an overall increase in profitability over other methods fromore with varying degrees of mineral concentrations. In a recentreport of sample results from La Tapata, Gemini noted that theDiazem process enabled the recovery of a very economic 9.38 g/tonneAu (gold) and an impressive 958.8 g/tonne Ag (silver) from the orezone tested.
Gemini now wishes to further report the potential of the Diazemprocess to enhance the value of each tonne of processed ore throughits tested ability to recover economically relevant quantities ofcopper and lead from the samples of the ore in the La Tapata testzone. The Diazem process recovered impressive averages of 5.8%copper and 52.5% lead from the ore samples tested. The capabilityto capture this quantity of metals, in addition to the gold andsilver recovered, translates to a significant increase in the totalvalue of the ore in question, hence producing a significant boostto Gemini's bottom-line profit for each tonne of ore mined.
In general, the Diazem process is more efficient and effective thantraditional hydrometallurgy techniques, which utilize cyanideleaching or acid treatment. In fact, in a test performed by Diazemon an unidentified ore sample, their process outperformed acid andcyanide treatments by significant margins with regard to thecapture of copper and lead. Following are the results expressed inparts-per-million:
Michael Hill, CEO of Gemini, commented on this new approach tomaximizing ore value as follows, "The ability of the Diazem processto enable the profitable recovery of copper and lead from the oreat La Tapata will add a new, positive dimension to Gemini'sfinancial picture. We are looking forward to completing the buildout of La Tapata's processing plant and putting this project intofull production."
