Saturday was spent boat bimbling and enjoying the sun before theyall set sail for their practice race. Race Officer Bob (Arkie)Wainwright made the most of the fabulous conditions to give thefleet some gate start practice before holding a trapezium courserace. Light wind specialists Julia and Stuart Allen lead from thestart and were delighted to get their first nationals win.
The fleet again set sail on Sunday in beautiful sunny conditions. After the usual first race general recall, the fleet set off in 10knots of Easterly breeze. Jeremy Stephens and Ellie Bremner showedthe fleet how its done with a magnificent port-end flier. The pairled from start to finish to secure their first bullet. DefendingChampions Steve Cumley and Eluned Jones followed in second but wereover-taken by Alan Krailing and Ed McArdle (2006 winners) only toget them back as the mist rolled in to reduce visibility to 5 boatlengths.
