Up for the Sam Bartram Cup This year's Sam Bartram Cup final will be contested by holdersBoldon Villa and South Shields FC on Saturday, August 2nd (3pm).

The game is being held in memory of Charlton legend Bartram, whowas spotted by the Addicks while playing for Bolden Villa in the1930s.
Bartram, who hailed from Bolden, went on to make a club record 623appearances for the Addicks, including a starring role inCharlton's FA Cup win in 1947. A bronze statue of Bartram nowstands outside the entrance to The Valley.
At this year's final, Marion Muncey, Bartram's niece, is hoping topresent the new strips, medals and trophy to the players, dependingon her health.
Last year, Boldon defeated Cleadon FC on penalties after athrilling 4-4 draw. The event also saw a young people's side play ateam of workers and parents as a build up to the final.
This year those youngsters will be at The Valley to watchCharlton's friendly with Athletic Bilbao as well as taking in atour of the stadium. The trip to London was to show the youngstersjust how daunting it would have been for Bartram to leave the NorthEast and move to the big city.
