John Howard Masingale, 40, 2990 W. Dolphin Drive, was arrested June24 and charged with assault on a female and resist, delay orobstruct, both misdemeanors. According to a police report,Masingale hit the victim in the face and beat her head on varioussurfaces. The victim was identified as Angel Auman, 33, of the 2900block of West Pelican Drive. She was treated at the scene byEmergency Medical Services. Masingale was located in a wooded areaof 29th Place with the assistance of a canine officer.
Steven Wayne Brown, 19, of Winston-Salem, was charged Thursday inconnection with an Oak Island robbery. He was served in connectionwith the crime while incarcerated in the Guilford County Jail onunrelated charges. Anna Dare Lewis, 17, of Winston-Salem, wasarrested in Guilford County Friday, as a result of the sameincident. Both face the same charges: robbery with a dangerousweapon and breaking and entering, both felonies, along withlarceny, a misdemeanor. The pair, along with an unidentified malejuvenile, allegedly robbed and assaulted a Domino's Pizza delivereron June 15 in the 2500 block of West Pelican Drive. One of themales allegedly hit the delivery man with a crowbar while the othermale hit him with his hands. The delivery driver gave them $15 cashbefore running to a neighboring residence and calling 911. Fivepizzas worth $60 and two warming bags worth $150 also were taken.The woman's alleged role in the crime was not clear from the policereport.

Oak Island Drive: Paige Brown, of Oak Island, reported June23 that a woman she knew came to Brown's business, argued with herand threatened to report her to the Better Business Bureau in adispute over the woman's pay. Brown told police she wanted thewoman to stay off the property in the future.

Deborah Renee Clarida, 45, of 1414 Wooster St., Wilmington, wasarrested on Thursday and charged with larceny. According to police,video footage showed Clarida removing a purse from the Taco Bell at101 Thomas Garst Lane, and later the suspect stated she had triedto use a credit card she found in the purse to buy gas but thetransaction failed. Clarida was placed under a $1,000 bond and hasa trial date of Aug. 5, police said.
Matthew Eugene Graham, 29, of 23222 Andrew Jackson Highway, Bolton,was arrested on Sunday and charged with driving while impaired anddriving with a revoked license. Following a traffic stop on U.S.74/76, Graham was placed under a $500 bond for his charges, andunder an additional $500 bond for a past failure to appear incourt, according to police; his trial date is set for Aug. 26.
