Latrobe Specialty Steel announces end of labor dispute
Latrobe Specialty Steel has welcomed the news that Local 1537 ofthe United Steelworkers approved the collective bargainingagreement negotiated Friday evening and that the twelve week workstoppage is ending.

Mr Hans Sack president & CEO of Latrobe Specialty Steel said that“I know that I speak for every Latrobe Specialty Steelemployee when I say that we appreciate the return of our hourlycolleagues. We have reached an agreement that enhances ourcompetitive position. This agreement ensures five years of laborstability.”

He said that “During the twelve week strike, the company wasable to serve its customers without interruptions due to thetremendous effort of the salaried workforce. They have myadmiration and gratitude.”

He concluded that "Our focus now will be on creating a highperformance culture and to enhance our position as a leading globalmetals producer. All Latrobe Specialty Steel employees will worktogether to further improve safety, productivity, quality andcustomer service.”
