IMS strengthen steel market position with acquisition of Produr
Leading distributors and processors of specialist steels IMS UKsaid that with the acquisition of Produr France to their groupsubsidiaries strengthened their position within the steel marketplace.

For over 20 years, Produr has been providing solutions to wearrelated problems, offering customers complete anti abrasion andanti wear materials, products, parts and component manufacture.Products are offered in varying qualities of material includingtempered steel, manganese steel, ceramics, rubber and weld overlayplate.

Produr offering operations including plasma and oxy cutting,machining, arc marking, welding and drilling, Produr's field ofexpertise and range of products including Dursteel, Dursteel Mn,Duraplate and Durcast enable IMS to offer their customers addedchoice and value with the experience and reputation that is trustedglobally. Through their partnership with Produr, IMS continue todevelop their products and services to ensure that they are muchmore than just a steel stockholder.

IMS said that the acquisition of Produr in September 2007 hasenabled IMS, already market leaders in France to strengthen theirposition within the market with the sale of items with high addedvalue.

Mr Adrian Hance Divisional Director of IMS said that "Theintroduction of Produr into the IMS Group has provided us with anextension to our already enviable list of process solutions therereally is no wear resistant problem that the IMS Group cannot dealwith.”

He said that “Produr provide proven systems associated withinnovative processes, taking the time to analyze and recommend thebest solution to the wear problem before manufacturing andinstalling the components. Projects have included work within therecycling, cement, civil engineering, port handling andagricultural sectors.”
