Allegheny Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:ATI), whichmanufactures and sells speciality metals, said yesterday (16 June)that it has introduced next-generation hard steel armour to thedefence market, the first since the Vietnam War. ATI 500-MIL armoursteel meets the new USMIL-DTL-46100E high-hard specifications forballistic performance and protects against armour-piercing roundswhile also offering blast-resistance properties, the company said.
