Iron Horse Hotel islocated just south of the recently-opened Harley-Davidson

Although  Iron Horse Hotel will not be completed in time forHarley-Davidson’s 105th anniversary celebration from Aug. 27to Aug. 31, it will be “partially open,” according toTim Dixon, president of Dixon Development LLC, the developer of thehotel. The Iron Horse will be able to serve food and drinks duringthe event and will have a limited number of guests staying there,he said.

Construction will continue during the celebration, Dixon said, butvisitors will be able to tour the facility.
“We want them to see (the hotel) while they’re here andto come back two months later when we’re fully open,”Dixon said.
Construction crews are now putting finishing touches on thehotel’s rooms, dining and bar facilities and exterior. Whencompleted, the Iron Horse Hotel will include a restaurant namedSmyth, a café called The Yard and a breakfast room named TheLibrary.
It will also feature on-site covered motorcycle parking and valetauto parking.
The Iron Horse is being developed inside a six-story, nearly96,000-square-foot former warehouse building, which features CreamCity brick, exposed beams and other historic features. Many of thehotel’s design elements evoke both Milwaukee’smanufacturing history and its connection to Harley-Davidsonmotorcycles.
