China pig iron exports up 41% in short term

Tootoo.com reports that China exported 16632 tons of pig iron in April 2008, an increase of 4864 tons or 41% MoM from March.

China's Jilin province supplied 6932.8 tons and Jiangsu 9700 tons to the April total.

During the first four months of 2008, China exported 85642 tons of pig iron – down 71.16% compared with the same period of 2007.

The country also imported 62732.87 tons of pig iron in April up by more than 830% from a month earlier.
