Lambda - High power density industrial supply range gets new 1000Wmodel Published Sep 22 2008 [ Printer friendly version ] [ Email article to a friend ] [ More Power articles ] With the introduction of a POWER ful new 1000W version, Lambda has extended its successful HWSfamily of single-output industrial power supplies. The HWS1000series is ideal for powering industrial equipment that demands veryhigh reliability and long field-life, says the company.
Units are available in ten nominal output voltages ( 3.3V, 5, 6V,7.5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V, 48V and 60V) and each model can beadjusted locally, using an external potentiometer, by up to ±20%of its nominal voltage (-20/+10% for 48V and 60V units) toaccommodate non-standard system voltages. Additionally, the HWS1000models can be adjusted remotely, using a 1V to 6V programmevoltage, from 20% to 120% of nominal output voltage (from 20% to110% for 48V and 60V models, 30% to 120% for 3.3V models).
The HWS1000 series is suitable for operation from inputs in therange of 85VAC to 265VAC at 47Hz to 63Hz, or 120VDC to 330VDC, andmeets the tough SEMI F47 (200VAC line only) power line sagspecifications and EN61000-3-2 harmonic correction standards.Remote on/off, remote sense, DC good and current-share controls andsignals are standard. In addition, a front panel mounted green LEDis lit when the supply is on. Over-current and over-voltageprotection is also provided.
The power supplies have a high-quality internal fan and can beoperated in a -10C to +71C ambient. The units come in a compactfootprint 126.5mm x 82mm x 240mm, making them suitable for mountingin a 2U rack, and weigh just 3200g. Units within this range areparticularly well suited to factory automation, test andmeasurement equipment, and automated service equipmentapplications.
The new HWS1000 series power supplies from Lambda meetEN55011/55022 Class B EMI standards (radiated and conducted), areCE marked, and are safety-approved to UL/CSA/EN60950-1 and EN50178specifications. They also meet EN61000-4-X immunity standards, saysthe company.
