The Heritage Iron Club helped sponsor the eventwhich was held Saturday, July 12 at Ashe County High School ParkingLot in West Jefferson. Gates opened at 9 a.m and food was providedby the Ashe County Honor Guard.

"It was a good show. We had good weather, a great turnout and101 entrants," said Wanda Lewis of the Heritage Iron Club.

Trophies were given to the top 75. Dash plaques were awarded to thefirst one hundred entrants. Erick Langsdeh received the award forBest Motorcycle; Best Import went to Heather Lewis of NorthWilkesboro; Best GM other than a Chevrolet went to Sammy Greer ofJefferson. The Best Mopar Award winner was George Roark of MillersCreek. Avery Greer of Sugar Grove, Va. took home Best Ford. BestChevy went to Danny Jones of Lansing and The Best Show winner wasRay Norris of Boone. The Most Club Participation Trophy went toHigh Country Classic Club of Boone. People's Choice award went toEddie Lyalls of Jefferson.

The Heritage Iron Club was formed in 2003 in West Jefferson, by agroup of enthusiasts that are interested in the preservation andeducation of classic and vintage farm tractors, garden tractors,trucks, cars, machinery, engines and tools. An incorporated nonprofit organization, they not only seek to further their owninterests, but also to be of service to others, assisting numerouscharitable organizations. The club will hold "CruiseIn's" in the parking lot of The Juction Restaurant, betweenJefferson and West Jefferson on the four lane, on July 26, August30 and September 27.

All proceeds from this year's Ridge Run went to the Ashe CountyHigh School Auto Body and Mechanics Department.
