Japan\'s Amada builds up machine tool plant

The Japan based Amada Co., a leading manufacturer of metalprocessing machines, is reportedly planning to invest ¥20billion to build a factory for machine tools in Gifu Prefecture inorder to achieve the company's target to boost 60% sales of machinetools by fiscal 2011.

To be based in an industrial park in the city of Toki, the newplant will be built in 2010 on a land of 120,000 sq. meters.

Amada's existing machine tool operations at an Aichi Prefectureplant will be entirely transferred to the new site. Output capacitywill increase 70% to 260 units a month.

The new plant will provide lathe and grinding machines, used forprocessing auto parts and medical equipment components, and so on.
