Trend Communications has added a Gigabit Ethernet tester, the TrendUnipro GbE, to the companys wide range of hand-heldtelecommunications testers and local access diagnostic tools.

The Unipro, designed for field engineers, is easy to use,hand-held, battery powered, rugged and impact resistant.

As the technology progresses weintroduce the products demanded by the market place. GigabitEthernet is a technology where well engineered test equipment isvital  the Unipro fulfils that requirement.

Many Ethernet analysis facilities are incorporated in the TrendUnipro GbE allowing field engineers to carry out cable tests,verification of PoE (Power over Ethernet) and BERT (Bit Error RateTesting). Traffic generation is also incorporated along with,filtering and analysis, IP ping and trace route.

The Trend Unipro GbE executes RFC 2544 tests and verifiesconnectivity, frame transportability and throughput. The instrumentis very versatile, not only does it carry out standard tests but italso includes a range of sophisticated tests.

Advanced tests incorporated in Trend Unipro GbE includeverification of auto-negotiation when connecting nodes, VLANconfiguration and routing, admission control and congestionavoidance mechanisms, quality of service (QoS) provided by thenetwork, and the service level agreements (SLA). A remarkably widerange of tests in such a small portable unit.
