Bosch Launches Second Generation PS20 12v Max Pocket Driver
Upgraded Pocket Driver Features 25% More Speed and Torque
Mount Prospect, Ill., July 16, 2008 - When Bosch Power Tools &Accessories unveiled its convenient and lightweight PS20 PocketDriver in 2006, the company did more than launch a new product.Bosch created a completely new category of power tools. Users fellin love with the unprecedented combination of robust, pro-caliberpower and a chassis that could literally fit in most pockets. Thesuccess of the Litheon(TM)-powered PS20 also spawned variations onthe ultra-compact theme - namely Bosch's PS10 I-Driver and PS40Impactor.
This year, Bosch takes the evolution of its ultra-compact productfamily one step further with the introduction of thesecond-generation PS20 Pocket Driver. Featuring substantialupgrades in every meaningful measure, Bosch's re-interpretation ofthe PS20, not to mention the company's stature as the only producerof multiple tools in the category, is poised to remind userseverywhere why Bosch remains the global leader in the ultra-compactpower tool category.
"The great thing about the popularity of the original Pocket Driverwas the opportunity it gave us to gather feedback from manydifferent types of users," says Bosch group product manager EdwinBender. "The new PS20 reflects that feedback and enables Bosch tomake the best-selling ultra-compact tool even better."
Increases in speed and torque were among the key upgrades requestedby PS20 users, and Bosch's new tool delivers. The second-generationPS20 features 100 inch-pounds of torque and a 500-RPM operatingspeed, both measures representing 25 percent increases versus theoriginal tool.
Bosch also built in a few improvements specifically aimed at makingthe PS20 more productive on the job. With the only magnetizeddriving bit holder in its class, the PS20 now supports the insertbits that almost every user has in his/her toolbox.
In addition to the improvements, Bosch's new PS20 retains all ofthe qualities that made the original so popular and does so at thesame cost as the original ($129 typical retail). The unparalleledergonomic grip is still there, as are the robust metal "10+1"clutch ring, bright LED work light and locking
