Turner Construction Company Employees Join Habitat for Humanity

Today, thirty TurnerConstruction Company employee volunteers assembled in conjunctionwith the Habitat for Humanity Organization in Newark, NJ to assistwith the building of homes in an effort to provide adequate housingto those in need.
The Turner volunteers completed various tasks including framing,taping and spackling for three homes being built by the charity inNewark.
"Turner has maintained regular involvement in the Newark communityand is dedicated to continuing their service through programs likeHabitat for Humanity and also Turner's own community affairsprograms," said Thomas V. Reilly, Vice President and GeneralManager for Turner's New Jersey Business Unit. "Turner is proud tohave the commitment of our staff to assist with these projects andbe able to give back to the community," Reilly said.
Habitat for Humanity, Newark is a non-profit organization thatbegan in 1986 and focuses on the most economically distressedneighborhoods in Newark. Currently, 65 houses have been completedin Newark and four are under construction.
Alicia Biasotti Belotta is the Project Development Manager forTurner Construction and the organizer of the Habitat for Humanityevent and believes organizations like Habitat for Humanity affectmany individuals in a community, not just their directparticipants. "Organizations like [Habitat for Humanity] and othercommunity organizations play an integral part in boosting moraleand increasing pride in communities," Biasotti Belotta said. "Notonly are we building houses, we're building hopes and dreams forthese families."
