TAG Lands Department of Homeland Security Deal for Border Protection

Technology Advancement Group, Inc.(TAG) has been awarded the contract to supply Customs and BorderProtection (CBP) with servers and displays to outfit all of thetraffic lane checkpoints across all United States borders. Thisequipment gives officers the ability to use a variety of biometrictools, such as finger print scanners and passport readers, whenimplementing the new Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI),checking individuals crossing into and out of the country.

The system consists of a rugged 19" display with touchscreen and asmall rugged server with a powerful Intel-based processor. Thesuite was designed with the border agent's job in mind, making iteasier for them to secure our border in harsh, diverseenvironments. This equipment meets numerous environmental andrugged requirements to ensure the reliable border security, whetherit's in Alaska in the winter or Texas in the summer.

The display, dubbed the LK-0100-19SW, features state-of-the-arttouchscreen technology with optimal viewing in all lightingconditions, including direct sunlight. TAG sealed and coated thedisplay for reduced glare. The LK-0100-19SW provides an intuitiveand robust terminal for security personnel, and is ideal forphysical security and/or check point applications. With itswater-tight connectors, the touchscreen display allows for highspeed peripherals like retinal scanners, passport readers, USBvideo feeds, etc. This drip proof, water-resistant display hasremovable VESA Mounting Base for easy wall mounting or swing armmounting.

The server, or the SV-0100-THS, is a rugged and compact chassisfeaturing the latest in Intel technology, a powerful 2.0GHz IntelCore Duo processor. This machine's chassis (4" high) can fit intotight spaces (i.e. on or under a desk, on a dashboard, in avehicle, etc.) maximizing its functional use. Weighing only 7.1lbs,the SV-0100-THS has unlimited portability options that re-definesvalue for mobile computing. It is built with a SATA hard drive andexpandable memory up to 4GB.
