Haber, Inc, (OTC: HABE), aMassachusetts-based company with proprietary technology forenvironmentally friendly processing of precious metal-bearing ores, announced today that it has developed a low-cost process to treatsulfides in ores for use in conjunction with its proprietary goldextraction and recovery technologies and its "Aladdin" oreprocessing machine.
Haber independently developed this sulfide reduction chemistryspecifically to treat refractory sulfide ores. The presence ofsulfides in gold ores tends to inhibit the extraction of gold fromthe ore and represents a processing problem common to the industry.Testing indicates that the Haber sulfide reduction process issuperior in speed, cost and temperature range to many otherexisting techniques.
This new approach is specifically designed for use with Haber'sextraction and recovery formulations and with its "Aladdin"machine. This specialized machine, previously reported on inDecember 2007 and February 2008, allows Haber to take fullestadvantage of its hydrometallurgical technologies, achieve the mosteconomical use of chemical components and provides maximumextraction efficiencies. Testing has also shown that use of thisnew sulfide mitigation process actually enhances the speed andefficiency of Haber's existing extraction and recovery processes, thereby significantly reducing operating costs.
Daniel Dajie, vice president of Commercial Development creditedwith the development of SRP stated, "Sulfide ore is a challenge forthe mining industry. All of the existing technologies arecumbersome, have high capital costs to implement or are temperaturedependent. The SRP system solves those problems. The chemicalformulation coupled with the Aladdin processor provides acomprehensive proprietary solution. The SRP system isenvironmentally friendly, fast, economical and highly efficient andhas an extremely low consumption of water/chemicals. Themultiplicity of sulfide ores tested using SRP and our proprietaryextraction and recovery processes and equipment achieved recoveryefficiencies of 94 percent to 98 percent."
Albert B. Conti, president, CEO and chairman of Haber stated, "Ourdevelopment of this new sulfide technology will now allow Habergreater ability to economically process low-grade gold and preciousmetal bearing ores, giving us access to a wider range of gold oretypes which had been outside our capabilities. Our goal is tomaintain, and wherever possible, advance the state of the art inthe technologies employed in our core businesses. This approachwill continue to present us with opportunities in new businesssectors where we see a competitive advantage. Haber will continueto proactively develop or acquire new technologies in the mining, life sciences, energy and related environmentally bio-sustainablefields, either on its own or through joint ventures whenever apromising opportunity presents itself."
Haber, Inc. is a high technology process development company withproprietary technologies in extractive metallurgy andelectrochemical separations. These technologies include thecompany's Haber Gold Process (HGP) chemical system for thehydrometallurgical extraction of gold from ores. The Haber GoldProcess is both non-toxic and more efficient than conventionalsolvents such as cyanide. This technology accelerates the goldextraction rate and may increase gold recovery from its ores by asubstantial factor. The company's Electromolecular Propulsion (EMP)technology is an electrochemical process that enables theelectrically controlled movement or positioning of a variety ofdifferent molecules. It is distinguished from the techniques ofelectrophoresis and chromatography by its wide variety of potentialapplications and the greater speed and control of the results.
