Yamaha Motor Corp acquires Precision Propeller

Yamaha Motor Corporation has acquired the assets ofIndianapolis-based Precision Propeller, Inc. The company said in astatement that the new subsidiary will be called PrecisionPropeller Industries, Inc, and fall under the responsibility of theYamaha Marine Group. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Yamaha manufactures outboard motors from 2.5hp-350 hp. "The marineoutboard industry is complex," said Phil Dyskow, president ofYamaha Marine Group, in the statement. "We need to have the rightoutboard motors for our customers and all the right hardware to goalong with them. PPI employees will help us supply them. We valuetheir knowledge and skill."
Yamaha said it intends to retain the workers and make capitalinvestments in the Indiana facility.
