With mines using most of their electrical energy for the sizereduction of mineral ores, there is a new urgency to find moreenergy-efficient ways of crushing and grinding rock. Minerals andmaterials processing and handling specialist IMS Engineering MD Lasni Millar says this suits the com- pany, which traditionally offers a numberof comminution technologies designed to reduce energy consumption, increase productivity and enhance overall plant efficiencies, butof which the benefits were more difficult to be appreciated in thepast.
He adds that with technical support from technology partnersEarthTechnica company, Koeppern, Hazemag, BHS Sonthofen, Steinert,Neuenhauser and Haahjem, IMS Engineering has traditionally pursuedthe acquisition of technologies designed to achieve energy savings.
