Heath Slocum made the cut at the British Open.
The former Milton grad finished round two tied for 69th place at9-over par, which was the cut line for this years British Open atBirkdale.
Slocum, who at one point was tied for third on Thursday,experienced a rough back nine on day two as he played the finalnine holes at 6-over par. He is expected to tee off around 2 a.m.locally today.
Slocum is now tied with Phillip Archer, Ariel Canete, Simon Kahn,Paul Casey, Nick O'Hern, Lee Westwood, Andres Romero, Ernie Els,Davis Love III, Lucas Glover, Martin Wiegele, Jose-Filipe Lim,Pablo Larrazabal, and Michael Campbell.
Fellow Milton grad Boo Weekley was done in by the elements and dayone.
Weekley who started the open with a first round score of 10-overpar, could not get the magic going on day two as he finished hissecond trip to the open at 13-over par and in a tie for 124thoverall.
Joining Weekley at 13-over are Tim Clark, Gary Boyd, and AngelCabrera.
KJ Choi is your current leader at 1-under par while Greg Norman isone stroke back at even par after two days.

Heath Slocum got off to an interesting start as he lost a stroke tothe leaders with a bogey on the first hole of round three.
Slocum now finds himself at 10-over for the tournamnt after threeholes of the third round and tied for 76th overall.
Today Slocum is playing this round with Paul Casey, who has losttwo strokes to the leaders himself andis now at 11-over par.
The leaders K.J. Choi and Greg Norman are still several hours awayfrom teeing off.

Slocum has lost another stroke with a bogey on the sixth hole.
This is the third straight round where this hole has caused Slocumproblems as he is now in a tie for 76th at 11-over par for thetournament.
Slocum is at 2-over for the day.

The increased winds at Birkdale seems to be posing even moreproblems today.
Due to the high winds, which could be even more intense for theleaders, officials moved forward the tees at holes 6, 11, and 16.
Moving the tee forward didn't help Slocum as indicated in theprevious update, as he bogeyed the hole for the third consecutiveround.
Despite that Slocum is hanging in there and remains at 2-over onthe day after seven holes.
For the tournament Slocum is tied for 77th overall at 11-over parwith Nick O'Hearn.

Heath Slocum has lost another stroke on the field, but remains tiedfor 77th overall.
Slocum bogeyed the ninth hole as he finished the front nine at3-over par.

After carding two birdies an a bogey on holes 15 through 17, Slocumcarded a double bogey on No. 18 and he is now 4-over for the dayand 13-over for the tournament.
He is currently in the clubhouse tied for 69th place overall.
