81 workers treated after chemical accident at German car parts

Officials say dozens of people have been taken to hospitalsfollowing an apparent chemical accident at a car parts factory insouthern Germany.
Robert Bosch GmbH says 81 workers at its Bamberg plant complainedof headaches and sore throats. They were given medical treatment atthe scene and taken to nearby hospitals for examination.
Police spokesman Robin Buss says that fumes were released by achemical reaction early Friday. The cause was unclear.
Bosch says that the workshop involved is used to apply corrosionprotection to car parts. It says some of the workers already havebeen released from hospitals.
Work at the plant resumed later Friday morning.
