XP Power Announces New Series Of Single 25W Output

XP Power announced the availability of its ECL25 series of single output,low power ac-dc power supplies. Extending the current ECL productline-up of 10 and 15W units, the new 25W output family is availablein chassis, PCB or encapsulated PCB mount formats.
Starting at only 3.0 x 1.4 x 1.1" (76.2 x 35.6 x 26.7mm) forthe pcb mount version, the units are said to suit low power, lowcost applications where board or chassis space is limited. With apower density of 5.7W per cubic inch, the company believes that thesupplies offer the highest power density and are the smallest ofany similar 25-30W products on the market.
The ECL25 series consists of 21 single output models across thethree formats providing output voltages of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 24 or48Vdc. The 48 Vdc unit is rated at 82% power efficiency. Noadditional heat sinking or forced airflow is required, making thesupplies suitable for most operating environments. They operate atfull power from -20 to +50°C and derate linearly to 50% outputat +70°C. For applications where a higher peak output isrequired for short periods the ECL25 series is suitable. All modelshave a peak load capability that can provide 130% of rated outputpower for a maximum of 30 seconds.
The series has a Class II input, meaning that no grounding isrequired. This suits portable equipment designs where a reliableground source is not always available. Input to output isolation israted at 3,000Vac. External filtering components are not requiredsince the power supplies already meet EN55022, level B forconducted and radiated EMC. All models carry EN, UL, CSA and CEsafety approvals.
