Southco opens new manufacturing facility

Marine hardware specialist Southco has opened a new manufacturingfacility in Concordville, Pennsylvania, to better serve its NorthAmerican clients.
The new Injection Molding and Rapid Prototyping Center ofExcellence is housed at Pennsylvania's Concordville Campus and isthe result of several million dollars of investment.

"In an era of declining manufacturing in the US and here in thePhiladelphia region, the creation of this mission-criticalInjection Molding and Rapid Prototyping Center of Excellence willenable Southco to continue to develop and manufacture innovativeproducts and provide superior service to our customers," says BrianMcNeill, president and CEO of Southco.
McNeill says that the opening of the facility is part of thecompany's proactive restructuring plan to rebalance its operationsaround the globe, while maintaining its roots in Pennsylvania.

Southco offers a wide range of locks, latches, hinges, handles andcaptive fasteners for the marine and other markets. The groupserves more than 70,000 customers in 70 countries with 3,000employees worldwide.
