Forklift trucks needed to lift dead 35-stone lorry driver

The driver and vehicle arrived in Britain on Monday. Theirdestination was the freight depot next to Leeds BradfordInternational Airport at Yeadon.
Fears are understood to have been riased when the driver failed tomake contact with his employers in Germany after arriving inBritain. They raised the alarm and the lorry was found at the depotat 5.30 pm last night. The man's body was in the sleepingcompartment at the back of the cab.
Because of his weight firefighters from Rawdon were called out toremove the body.
"We had to use two forklift trucks," said one firefighter. "He'dbeen there since Monday. It was not pleasant."
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding thedeath of the man, who was aged 38.
