Drug trafficking: NDLEA gets body scanner

The United States Government yesterday donated a Soter RS securitybody scanning machine to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) to enhance the fight against drug trafficking.
Donating the equipment at the Murtala Muhammed InternationalAirport, Ikeja, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Robin Sanders,said the gesture was part of the US support to Nigeria.
Sanders said the US had donated three of such equipment forinstallation in the other three international airports in Nigeria.
The ambassador said that the purchase and installation of the fourscanners as well as manpower training on their use cost over $I.2million.
She said the security scanner would detect all foreign materials onor inside the human body.
