Advanced Digital Printing Adds Second Presstek 52DI Press

Presstek, Inc. reported that New York -based Advanced DigitalPrinting has acquired its second Presstek 52DI digital offsetpress, just seven months after purchasing the first one.
"We saw an opportunity to expand our production of packagingmaterials to encompass the additional printed materials ourcustomers require," said Elazar Wadler , Chief Information Officerfor Advanced Digital Printing. "The larger format size of the 52DIpress, combined with its ability to handle heavy stocks and itsfast and efficient makeready have allowed us to significantlyexpand our product offerings and our revenues." Wadler points outthat the company has also added conventional die-cutting tofacilitate the production of packaging items produced on boardstock, applications that can only be produced because of the DIpress. Wadler replaced a two-page, four color conventional offsetpress with his first 52DI. "The 300 lpi print quality isoutstanding," he adds. "This capability gives us another feather inour cap as we work with our customers to develop even moreapplications."
Presstek DI presses are the most efficient means of producing fastturnaround short-run, high quality color on a wide range ofsubstrates. All plates are simultaneously imaged on-press, inprecise register, and the press comes up to color quickly; in asfew as 20 sheets. This is especially important when using expensiveprinting stocks. The DI's waterless printing ensures fast dryingand reduced water consumption, and its chemistry-free platemakingcombined with reduced paper waste also ensures cost effectiveproduction and an optimum environmental footprint.
"These presses are extremely reliable and productive," adds Wadler."We run them 24 hours per day, and have already put six millionimpressions on our first 52DI, with a million on the second pressin the first six weeks.
