Hougen Introduces New Fabricator Kits

Two portable magnetic drill models from Hougen Manufacturing are now optionally available in convenient, accessories-bundled combinations ideal for a variety of fabricating and maintenance tasks, the company said. The first new package, the HMD904K Fabricator Kit, includes the model HMD904C drill along with a 1/2" diameter Jacobs drill chuck and key, an arbor adapter for installing the chuck, and a Rotabroach "12,000-Series" Cutter Kit. The cutter kit includes five sizes of annular cutters: 9/16, 11/16, 13/16, 15/16, and I- 1/ 16 " diameters for 2" depth of cut. The second new performance package is the HMD914K Fabricator Kit that includes the Jacobs chuck, adapter and same cutter kit along with the HMD914 portable magnetic drill model. Both kits are designed to add versatility and working range to the operational performance of the respective drills, offering the high speed cutting action of Hougen's Rotabroach annular cutters, plus the adaptability to utilize conventional twist drills, reamers, and other rotary tools. Both packages are complete with a carrying case.

The HMD904K kit is furnished with the new HMD904C drill that features a premounted coolant bottle and integral arbor with coolant inducer port, and tubing and fittings. The HMD904C weighs approximately 28 lbs. and provides hole capacities up to 1-1/2" diameter and to 2" depths. The HMD914K is furnished with the HMD914 drill model that includes a similar coolant system to that of the HMD904C, weights just 44 lbs., and offers 7/16" thru 2-1/16" diameter hole cutting capacity, with 3" depth of cut.

The "12,000-Series" Rotabroach Annular Cutters included in the tool kits produce holes from 50 to 80% faster than with twist drills-with longer tool life. Other sizes, in 1/16" increments, are available from 7/16 to 2-3/8" (12 - 52mm) diameters.

Hougen offers 16 basic portable magnetic drill models, with hole capacities to 3-1/16" diameter and 3" depth of cut. Other holemaking technologies include six models of Punch-Pro Portable Electro-hydraulic Hole Punchers, plus a wide range of annular cutter series for a variety of applications, including sheet metal, plate and tubing, for portable fabricating equipment as well as stationary machine tools.
