Boy Scout Troop seeking donations for local food pantry

Boy Scout Troop 46 will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items at the Windsor Heights Hy-Vee and Wal-Mart and the Clive Dahl’s store from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 12.
The troop will use the donations to help fill the shelves of the Des Moines Area Religious Council Food Pantry and raise awareness of the plight of the hungry.
Suggested food items to consider:
Peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, macaroni/spaghetti, canned vegetables, canned fruits, soups, noodles, canned meals (stew, chili), saltines, biscuit and muffin mix, canned tuna, chicken or ham, packaged dinners (helpers, etc.), rice, baby food, instant potatoes, gelatin, baby formula, and cereal.
