Compellent's business momentum grows as IMG be 1,000th customer

Compellent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE Arca: CML) today announced thatglobal sports and entertainment company IMG is the 1,000thorganization to select the Compellent storage area network (SAN).IMG will use the Compellent SAN as the foundation for itsinnovative, global virtual data center to help manage rapid datagrowth, ensure business continuity and reduce storage costs.
"Today we are celebrating that IMG is the 1,000th customer to joinour community - forward thinkers that share our vision to growtheir businesses through easy-to-manage and easy-to-upgradeenterprise storage," said Phil Soran, Compellent president and CEO."Starting with Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business,our first customer in 2004, companies like IMG are part of thegrowing movement in our industry away from legacy platforms towardmore agile, cost-effective and energy-efficient storagearchitectures."
After reviewing several legacy and next-generation systems IMGchose Compellent for its ease-of-use, virtualization and disasterrecovery capabilities. The company will replace existing storagesystems with Compellent SANs in London; Bradenton, Florida; NewYork and Sydney and anticipates additional worldwide locations. IMGwill use Compellent storage to support its global offices with ITservices based on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and VMwarevirtualized servers.
