IPOH: A fisherman was sentenced to seven years’ jail andordered to be whipped three times after he pleaded guilty to rapinga 19-year-old teacher in Sitiawan five years ago.
Mohamad Khairi Bahauddin, 26, who changed his plea midway throughhis trial, was further sentenced to four years’ jail forrobbing the girl of RM30 and her mobile phone worth RM200 at thetime of the rape behind Chong Cheng School in Taman Rasa Sayang onDec 8, 2003, at about 6.30am.
Sessions Court judge Hashim Hamzah ordered the sentences to runconcurrently from the date of his arrest on Dec 11, 2003.
According to the facts of the case, the teacher was cycling alonealong an alley towards her friend’s house in Taman Rasa Sayangwhen Mohamad Khairi rammed his motorcycle into the back of herbicycle.
She was thrown off her bicycle and fell into a drain.
When she tried to call for help, Mohamad Khairi snatched her mobilephone along with her bag containing RM30.
