Wreck victim's family wants to thank helper

The family of a man who was found seriously injured along a rural roadside after a motorcycle accident Friday night is trying to contact the woman who stopped.

Timmy Freeman, 31, of Shelbyville, was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after he was discovered off Wheel Road, said Misty Mitchell, who says she's a friend of the victim.

"All we know is her name is Nancy," Mitchell said. "She called his wife on his cell phone after she stopped and helped."

Mitchell asks 'Nancy' to contact her at 437-3016.

Freeman was taken to Heritage Medical Center, then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of head injuries, broken ribs and a broken wrist, Mitchell said.

He has been released from VUMC, Mitchell said, and is recuperating at home.
