AuthenTec (NASDAQ: AUTH), the world's leading provider offingerprint sensors and solutions, today reported financial resultsfor the second quarter ended June 27, 2008.
Financial and Business Highlights:
-- Reported record revenue of $18.4 million, a 50 percent increaseover year-ago quarter
-- Recorded gross margin of 48.5 percent, a 350 basis pointyear-over-year improvement
-- Achieved non-GAAP net income of $0.04 per diluted share, up$0.07 year-over-year
-- Broadened product offering with high-performance AES2550 sensorfor PC market
-- Announced 16th AuthenTec-enabled NTT DoCoMo phone: first tooffer TrueNav(TM) capability
Revenue for the second quarter of 2008 was $18.4 million, above theCompany's guidance range of $17.2 million to $17.8 million, andrepresenting an increase of approximately 50 percent compared to$12.3 million in the second quarter of 2007. This also represents a19 percent sequential increase as compared to $15.5 million duringthe first quarter of 2008.
