These computers clubs or "rooms" or "salons" orwhatever they're called are becoming popular in poor third worldcountries to provide adults with access to computers and tointroduce kids and adults to these machines.

Once again, let's look to the Cuban model (although the imperialistblockade denies internet connectivity capabilities to Cuba that theDR possesses, since the same fiber optic cables that serve the DRrun about a mile and half pass and from Cuba, but Cuba can't accessthe cables because of the dirty imperialist blockade). Cuba and Venezuela are presently laying a 1000-mile cable that willconnect Cuba with less difficulty to the internet.

Today, Indotel in the DR opened 1,342 computer "salons"with on average 15 "new" computers, the DT reports. As of May 2007, Cuba opened 600 "clubs," 24-hour access, with on average of 116 computers.
